Requests?

Comment here to make a request or drop me a line IRL. You can even suggest a literary style/genre or photographer and I'll do something with it.

"A small group of thoughtful people could change the world. Indeed, it's the only thing that ever has."
-Margaret Mead

Apart from being super pretty, this author is amazing. I just read "Sexy", but can't find an online version anywhere. After finals I might just scan it out of my text book given I don't off myself under all the pressure. So instead I'll just make this post to praise her. I remember seeing the trailer for this movie and being like, "lolkumarlol." But i will definitely netflix/read that shit since she wrote it.

I've decided posting random shit like this is better than actual reading. Just kidding finals are a bitch and I'll go back to the usual content when my life isn't such a cluster fuck.

Night Highway 99 (1962)

I have a plain version but this google one helps with all the random places in it. My favorite part:

"I like to be alone.
I am an old man.
I have forgotten how to speak human words."

Bad Newz Kennels

By Sarah Jones

On my Dad's birthday we watched this episode of Dexter with a model photographer and he talks to Dexter about this other famous photographer who would talk about the moment and how if you miss it, it's gone forever. I just found this on Facebook and think it ties in nicely.

Part One: Life #6 (1924)

By Emily Dickinson

If I can stop one heart from breaking,
I shall not live in vain;
If I can ease one life the aching,
Or cool one pain,
Or help one fainting robin
Unto his nest again,
I shall not live in vain.

Read this for the first time when i was 12 in the "Book of Virtues". Pretty simple and spot on, IMO. Read more Emily Dickinson on Bartleby.

In case you were born post-America in Iraq, here is a allegory to help you recall the hunt for WMD's. (I know I'm pretty much just reposting something on another blog but hey, you wouldn't have known about it if i didn't right?) The New Yorker has 30+ of these and they're awesome for when you don't like music.

The text, stream, and download are all here.

Rot

Polaroid by Austin Durant

Welcome!

This is my new blog where I post things I enjoy reading or staring at and wish to share with others. Pieces posted here can be my own (rarely), contemporary, old school, friends, famous ppl, relevant, irrelevant, intelligent, unintelligent, black and white, color, film, digital, prose, freeverse, and able to enter in your brain in 15 minutes or less. So hopefully you find something interesting/enlightening/funny on here and become a better person. I'll try to keep commentary minimal unless something needs an explanation :).
